Makes we repair
Automatic door repair for all 6 leading brands
Our engineers repair and service the automatic door systems you will find on most UK high streets, hospitals, schools and offices. If your door was fitted by another company, or the original installer has gone, we can still help.
Brand names are trademarks of their owners and are used only to describe the doors we repair.
Common faults
12 common automatic door faults we fix
Most automatic door faults come down to a handful of causes: sensors, the drive belt and rollers, the motor and gearbox, the control unit, locking, or power. Our engineers diagnose the fault on site and, where possible, bring commonly needed spare parts with them.
- Door will not open, or will not close
- Door opens on its own or keeps re-opening
- Door stops halfway, judders or reverses
- Grinding, banging or squealing noises
- Motion sensor or safety sensor not detecting people
- Door stuck open, or stuck shut
- Error code or flashing light on the control unit
- Door hit by a trolley, vehicle or pallet truck
- Electric lock or night lock not working
- Worn drive belt, rollers or floor guide
- Swing door arm loose or door not closing fully
- Door not working after a power cut

How a repair works
From your call to a safe, working door in 4 steps
Tell us the fault
Call 01708 864176 or use the repair form. Tell us the make if you know it, the door type, the fault and your address.
Engineer attends
One of our own engineers attends to investigate, find the cause and make the door safe.
Repair or quote
Many faults are fixed on the first visit. If parts or extra work are needed, the call-out fee is waived and you get a clear repair quotation.
Safety checks
After the repair we test the door’s sensors and safety functions against BS EN 16005 and explain what we found.

Repair or replace?
When a repair is no longer the right answer
Older operators can reach the point where replacement parts are no longer made. Rather than patching up an obsolete door again and again, we will tell you honestly when a new operator makes more sense.
In most cases we can replace just the mechanism and keep your existing door leaves and frame, which costs far less than a new entrance. See automatic door upgrades.
New installations come with a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty, extended to 3 years when you take out one of our maintenance contracts.
Where we repair
Automatic door repairs across England and Scotland
Repairs and emergency call-outs are run from our two sites: Dartford, Kent for London and the South, and Wednesbury, West Midlands for the Midlands and the North.
Stay safe while you wait
What to do if your automatic door is faulty
- If the door is moving unpredictably or could trap someone, switch the operator to off or manual on the programme switch and keep people away from it.
- Do not force the door leaves by hand or try to open the operator cover. Operators contain live mains power and stored energy.
- Check nothing is blocking the floor track or the sensors (bags, mats, stickers, cleaning equipment).
- Note any error code or flashing light on the control unit, and take a photo of the operator label. It helps us bring the right parts.

Automatic door repair questions
Do you repair automatic doors you did not install?
Yes. We repair RECORD, GEZE, DORMA (dormakaba), TORMAX, ASSA ABLOY (Besam) and HORTON automatic doors, plus our own ASK-2-E operator and most other makes, whoever installed them.
Do you offer emergency automatic door repairs?
Yes. Our emergency call-out runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week across England and Scotland. Call 01708 864176 and tell us the fault and your location.
How much does an automatic door repair cost?
It depends on the make, the fault and the parts needed, so we quote for each job. If parts or extra labour are needed after the engineer’s investigation, the call-out fee is waived and we give you a written repair quotation before any further work.
Can you fix my door on the first visit?
Many faults, such as sensor adjustment, belt or roller problems and control unit settings, are fixed on the first visit. Where a specific part has to be ordered, we make the door safe and return to fit it.
My door is old. Is it worth repairing?
If parts are still available, a repair is usually the cheapest option. If the operator is obsolete, we will recommend replacing just the mechanism and keeping your existing door leaves and frame.
Do you check the door is safe after a repair?
Yes. We test the sensors and safety functions against BS EN 16005, the safety standard for power-operated pedestrian doors, and tell you about anything that needs attention.
How can I stop my door breaking down again?
Regular servicing catches worn belts, rollers and sensors before they fail. Our planned maintenance contracts include scheduled visits and written service reports for every door.
